Article 7: Important products with digital elements
Summary
Article 7 links important products to the core functions of the categories in Annex III. Merely integrating such a component is not sufficient by itself.

Article 7 refers to Annex III and Classes I and II. For the checker, the product's core function matters, and an integrated component alone does not automatically determine the classification of the whole product.
In practice
Product teams should document the core function of the overall product and compare it with the 19 Class I and 4 Class II categories in Annex III.
